Care of nappies:

Soaking nappies is not required.

Wash nappies every day to second day in water up to 60º.  I prefer 40º.

Rinse soiled nappies and pop them in nappy bucket.

Wet nappies can be popped straight into nappy bucket unless wee is strong.  In this case you would rinse the nappy prior to putting in nappy bucket.

Washing nappies:

Nappies need to be rinsed prior to washing.  Either pop nappies into washing machine and do a rinse cycle prior to washing or rinse in laundry trough prior to putting in machine.  Regular laundry power is OK.  I use OMO, you may like to consider a sensitive laundry powder.

Nappies smelly:

This could be -

1. a) build up of too much detergent – put clean dry nappies through a cycle without any washing powder and use Dettol Sanitary Laundry Rinse in the rinse cycle.
2. b) nappies not quite dry when putting on baby. Re wash again as above.

Drying:

Nappies can be dried in a clothes dryer on warm setting.  Hot setting will lessen the life of your nappy.

Dont's:

Don't soak nappies in Napi San or similar products that contain chlorine bleaching agents.

Don't use fabric softener as this will make nappies non absorbent.

Don't use too much laundry power as this can cause a build up and effect absorbency.
